The urban treehouse is a 5,800 s.f. family residence located near a busy corner in Preston Hollow of Dallas. The lot is filled with live oak trees that can be seen throughout the house from the large expanses of windows.
The house is reinforced with double thick insulated walls and clad with brick to keep the traffic noises at bay. It opens up to the north and south to take advantage of natural light. The mixed materials of brick, wood and siding on a fairly modern façade help the house blend into the eclectic neighborhood. The interior is clean and open with ample room for the owners artwork. A highly textured reclaimed pine floor brings a sense of place and history to the interior.
